Dark scarlet with purple hues and a magenta rim.

Dried herbs, wisps of sage. Bramble and blackcurrant, with some red fruit notes of pomegranate and cranberry. Hints of nutmeg and clove. Balanced and complex.

Intense and vibrant up front, leading with black fruits, sarsaparilla and clove. Mid-palate is full and balanced with fine silky tannin and notes of mocha and umami. Great length.

The marriage of Coonawarra's Terra Rossa over limestone soils with Bordeaux varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, has produced some of Australia's greatest and longest living wines. Wines released under the 'Terra Rossa' classification, are made from fruit that is grown exclusively on the rich red soils found in our vineyards at the southern end of Coonawarra.

The micro-climate in this location provides an extended ripening period for the grapes, which imparts unique qualities in this range of wines. This combination produces 'Terra Rossa' wines with wonderful fruit expression, elegance in structure, complexity and excellent cellaring potential.

Maturation took place in majority third fill (80%) French oak barriques and hogsheads for fourteen months, before final blending and bottling. A classic Coonawarra Cabernet from a strong vintage.

"The 2021 Terra Rossa Cabernet Sauvignon leads with mint and dark chocolate, red earth and cassis. On the palate, the wine is silky and red fruited, with lashings of pomegranate and cranberry through the finish. The acid is a little jarring on the close, but otherwise, the fruit is quite lovely. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. Drink to 2036."

"Matured in French oak (40% new) for 12 months. There's good power here, good weight, with warm-hearted blackcurrant flavours as the drivers but with saltbush, garden mint and toasted cedar notes pushing through. It pushes ripeness without overstepping the mark to any serious degree, and it feels mouth-filling and confident throughout."
