Roc des Anges Unic has a delicate aroma of rose petal and undertones of blackcurrants and plums. It has a smooth mouthfeel and tastes somewhat reminiscent of Burgundian Pinot Noir, with fruity and herbal undertones. It boasts a vibrant, red fruit-filled finish. An exquisite Grenache.

Sun, wind, drought, stones are no longer obstacles to their wines. Light is not a barrier to freshness, ripeness is not only a matter of sugar, and heat has nothing to do with power. Their goal is to make distinctive wines, not to make the best Roussillon wines. When they were younger, they made warm-climate wines, now they make soil wines. The sense of place is a hallmark of their wines.

Grenache Noir planted in 1991. Well-drained, decomposed schists, similar to sandy soil. This soil gives the wine an ethereal character, a vibrancy that even the relentless sunshine of Rousillion cannot temper.

This soil profile, combined with whole-cluster grenache, is a special mix that brings a singular expression to the wine. Unic is not about power and concentration, it is about elegance and restraint. It has this charming, less-is-more style, with great tension, freshness, refinement and nuances.

Toffee and black fruits, plum. Nice deft structure, silky touch and accuracy of the mature vines that irresistibly evoke Burgundy. Pinot indeed by its structure, typical of sand grown Grenache at its best!
