      Tasting Notes and Description
Very fine and elegant, with citric and minerals notes. It shows excellent acidity, good texture and very long aftertaste.

      Great potential for aging.

The fermentation occurred during 18 days in French oak barrels at low temperatures, after which this wine was aged in the same barrels for 9 months with “batonnage”.

"The 2018 Branco "CH" is all Arinto from the winery's 1989 vines, aged for nine months in used French oak. It comes in at 12.5% alcohol. Feeling rather full in the mouth, this is more notable for its pungent aromatics, some from wood, and power on the finish. Tense, a little stern and very precise, this is another fine Branco CH. It has been very consistent of late. There were 2,629 bottles produced. Drink to 2029.
      90 points."
(Mark Squires, The Wine Advocate, July 2020)

"Arinto on clay-limestone soil, 28-year-old vines. Fermented and aged 9 months, with lees stirring, in French oak.
Pale greeny gold. Complex aroma that goes beyond the herby grapefruit of the variety and incorporates a subtle creamy/spicy oak impression and a note of scented cedarwood. Lovely toasty hint that counterbalances the high acidity. Lingers in the mouth even at such a modest alcohol level. Precise core of citrus fruit is not lost to the oak, which is a support not a burden. Just the lightest touch of struck-match character that has virtually disappeared on the day after opening, and the impression that this is going to age very well in bottle, as Arinto can do even if it is so often drunk young. Drink to 2028.
      17+ points."
