      Tasting Notes and Description
Château Pesquié is a family estate located at the foot of the Ventoux Mountain, in the south of the Rhône Valley, gathering three generations of winemakers. At JN Wine we are proud to showcase these wonderful wines and hope to share the Pesquié passion for unique terroir, hand harvesting, organic practises and biodynamic principles with old vines planted on unique soils.

This word Terrasses comes from the Latin "terras", meaning "lump of earth". The Ventoux region is characterised by alternating hills and valleys. To make the most of this exceptional terroir, vine growers and other farmers had to accomplish the colossal feat of building "terraces" into the steep hillsides. Still today, they are very typical of their landscapes and also called restanques or rébanqués in Provençal. The Chaudière Family chose this name in homage to the terraces their ancestors carved into carefully chosen sites and to the garden of Château Pesquié itself.

      40 % Viognier - 20 % Roussanne - 20 % Clairette - 20% Grenache

Colour: Very limpid, pale lemon colour with silver reflections.

Nose: White flowers and citrus aromas with lime notes.

Mouth: Beautiful tension and freshness with citrus aromas (lemon and grapefruit), exotic fuits (lychees) and white stone fruits.

Food & Wine pairing: Ideal as an aperitif, Terrasses white will match very well with vegetables appetisers, grilled fishes, white meats and light cheeses.

"Tension and freshness are the white wine goals at Pesquié, and 2021 delivers in spades. Fresh, bright citrus and white flower draws you toward the glass. The blend is a 40/20/20/20 mix of viognier, grenache blanc, roussanne, and clairette, all farmed biodynamically since 2015 and fermented in stainless steel. Post ferment, it is blended and aged in concrete and stainless steel vats on lees. Pure peach, lime with exotic tropical fruit fill out the palate, and the chalky wet stone finish is dusted in the garrigue. Terrasses appears on the Chaudiere family's three signature labels: the red, white. and rosé blends. It honours the work done by their ancestors, carving terraces into the Pyrenees hillsides around the winery. The spare limestone soils, once deeply immersed below sea level, supply the perfect medium for growing grapes in the relatively cool climate setting of Mont Ventoux."

"The 2021 Ventoux Terrasses Blanc is a gorgeous, clean, up-front, and delicious white that's ideal for drinking over the coming summer months. Ripe lime, chalky mineral, mint, and some garrigue notes all define the nose, and it's pure and clean on the palate, with wonderful fruit."
