      Tasting Notes and Description
Condrieu "Chéry", with its golden yellow colour, balances elegance with strength. Its strong nature comes from the exceptional exposure of the hillside and the age of the vine stocks, the vineyard is one of the appellation's most prized vineyards, with tiny yields of 35 hl/ha. It's bouquet of citrus fruits, violet and peach-apricot flavours give it a rich and full mouthfeel.

The ageing potential of this wine is 3 to 10 years. It is best served at a temperature of 12-14 degrees. It is recommended to decant this wine before serving. The wine will then express all its character more quickly.

It goes perfectly well with foie gras, a plump fattened chicken with cream or with seafood such as lobster and prawns.

"Coteau de Chéry". The legend began at the time of the Roman Empire. Due to the growth of the number of vineyards in Gaule and a general overproduction in the Roman Empire, it was decided that half of Gaule's vine stocks must be removed. However, the Emperor Probus demanded that a single hillside must be preserved, his "Cherished" hillside, overlooking the Rhône Valley, producing an extraordinary wine. Since this time, vine stocks have continued to prosper on this hillside and nowadays the legend lives on as Condrieu "Chéry", one of the 100 Legendary Wines listed in the Solar guide by the leading sommeliers from the Taillevent wine cellars in Paris.

"Fruit from 40- to 80-year-old vines; fermented and aged in barrique (10% new) for one year; bottled. Plenty of fruit, white peach and marzipan. Mouth-filling and fleshy peachy notes with good density of fruit, moderate acidity and a long finish. 16.5 Points"
