Andre Perret Clos Chanson 2019, 75cl

Perret’s approach to winegrowing is classic: respect each individual terroir—he produces several single-vineyard wines—and work the soil to avoid the need for chemical treatments. His goal is to make fresh, structured wines, in “a sort of Burgundian style” as he says, but without too much wood; wines that aren’t too worked over and will age well. His Condrieu bottlings are reference points for the entire appellation.

Condrieu “Clos Chanson” comes from 2.5 hectares of 50 year old vines, fermented and aged in barrel, left one year on the lees before bottling. With its shining golden colour, features a mixture of white flowers such as acacia and lime blossom together with violet and yellow peach flavours. This is a full bodied, supple well-balanced wine, combining fresh floral notes with intense aroma's and flavour.

Perfect with lobster, foie gras, or savoury poultry.
