The name Château de Montifaud is historically linked to the land where the distillery sits. A castle used to be located there, which is why the word “château” is permitted to be used, a rarity in Cognac.
Documents show that the Vallet family has been making Cognac here since 1837, though the family believes production started even earlier. Sixth generation Laurent Vallet currently runs the business, taking over from his father Michel in 2010.

Napoleon is a special quality between VSOP and XO in the general ageing classification of Cognac this cognac has also a special position in our range. A blend of more than 10 different eaux-de-vie, all older than the 6 years required by the regulation. Artisanal Distillation with lees, aged in "roux" frenchoak casks then in old casks in our paradise cellar.

Notes of dry flowers, vanilla (very present), prune and dried fruits. Supple and round on the palate, with a nice “rancio”coming at the end.
