Urbina

In 1870, Alvador Urbina moved to Cuzcurrita and produced the first wines made using wood, with vineyards that are still used to make Urbina wines.

His children Ciriaco and Paquita continued the profession, and Pedro and Jesús Ángel, Salvador's grandchildren, began producing wine in the current winery in stainless steel tanks in 1986.

The winery is currently run by the fourth generation. Ángel, Pedro and Santiago are important professionals in the sector (tasters, researchers, engineers and doctors), backed by extensive winemaking experience.

They work exclusively with grapes from their own vineyards, using respectful viticulture, organic fertilizers, maintaining the richness and structure of the soil, giving the fruit the essence that characterizes Urbina wines.

The cultivation is done in bush and cordon, without forcing production, with yields between 5,000 and 6,500 kg/ha, following traditional practices and limiting the use of pesticides and fungicides.

During the production process, native yeasts are used, which give the wine a unique personality, the complexity of the Urbina wineries.
