Scriani

The Scriani agricultural company was born from a small plot of land, rented by a father to his son, “just” thirty years ago.

The winery, focused on the production and sale of Valpolicella wines, evolved and immediately became a “family business”. Every member has been involved and has actively participated. Each one follows the rhythm of winemaking in the respect of what they do best.

Fumane is the heart of Valpolicella Classico: this is where Scriani tends to it’s vineyards, in the areas of Monte S.Urbano and La Costa.

Located at a height between 820 and 1312 feet above sea level, Scriani winery’s lands are skirted by the region’s characteristic streams channelling to small gorges covered in damp moss.

These elements are typical of Valpolicella landscape.

Vineyards are rooted in medium-textured soils whose significant components are basaltic tuffs and grey limestones. These formed the tropical seas covering the territory in the Eocene epoch.

The terrain is particularly suitable for the cultivation of vineyards which produce premium quality wines, including the renowned Amarone della Valpolicella.

They fully take care of vine and wine making, carrying out all the activities foreseen in its production process.

This knowledge is essential to obtain high quality they hold themselves to.

For Scriani, working the land, assembling grapes, and performing the whole process that ends with the bottles ready to be savoured is a philosophy, a way of life, a certainty.

They are 100% focused on the production and sale of Valpolicella wine. Stefano Cottini, oenologist and winery’s owner, follows each winemaking process’ step with great attention and care.

The work starts in the vineyards and ends in the French and Slavonian oak barriques in which the wine ages
