Morisfarms

The Moris Family, dedicated to organic viticulture in the Maremma region of Tuscany, have emerged as one of Southern Tuscany's premier producers offering wines which have remained true to their origin while at the same time pioneering the exploration of non-Tuscan varietals.

Over the years, the family has managed to stay true to their roots and offer excellent value at every price point.

The Moris family has been in Maremma for over 200 years.

While the actual surface area of the farm is 476 hectares and is divided into two properties, there are 70 actual hectares under vine.

The Poggetti Estate

The Poggetti Estate is the Moris family's historic property in the Tuscan Maremma.  Situated at an elevated position just 10 minutes from the Bay of Follonica, the property boasts spectacular views of pristine agricultural plots and the islands of Elba and Montecristo beyond.

The Poggetti Estate consists of 37 hectares of vineyard planted in clay soil with an altitude varying from 80 to 100 meters above sea level and a South-West exposure. The red wines are characterized by rich tannins and great personality.

The Poggio La Mozza Estate

The Moris family's second estate was founded in 1971 and its 35 hectares of vineyards are dedicated exclusively to the production of Morellino di Scansano DOCG, Classico and Riserva.  Both these wines take advantage of the estate's sandy, alluvial soil, making for elegant and structured wines with soft tannins.

Poggio la Mozza also houses the Morisfarms barrel room where wines from both estates are refined in French oak.
