Jean-Michel Gerin

The Gerin family has been established in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation, in the village of Ampuis, for 6 generations. This vineyard, located 30km south of Lyon, is the northernmost appellation in the Rhône Valley.

The influence of the Mediterranean and continental climates gives wines that are tannic, powerful, silky and elegant.

The king grape variety, "Syrah" is sometimes blended with Viognier to bring more finesse to the wines.

Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin started with the purchase of a plot of land in Côte-Rôtie in 1983.

Jean- Michel went on to purchase the vines of his father and grandfather and the first vintage of the Domaine made in 1987.

Expansion continued throughout the years with construction of a vat room, barrel cellar and bottle storage. A new winemaking facility was built in 2014.

In 2020, the decision was made to convert the entire estate to organic farming, and they have been certified since the 2023 vintage.

Today, Michaël and Alexis Gerin manage the estate which extends over nearly 20 hectares.
