Château Chante-Alouette

Based in the heart of the Saint-Emilion appellation Château Chante-Alouette was taken over in 1995 by the Guy d’Arfeuille family.

The Sandy soil on clay veins brings elegance, charm and suppleness to the wine. The very particular care taken both in the vineyard and in the vinification allows Château Chante-Alouette to claim the Grand Crus appellation each year.

Benoit d’Arfeuille has been able to boost this cru by increasing the production area and by practicing a vinification that combines tradition and modernity.

Climatology: mild and dry spring, cool summer, very beautiful late season

Soil: siliceous on clay veins

Planting density: 5500 vines / hectares

Average age of the vineyard: 35 years

Blend: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc

Yield: 37 hl / ha

Aging: 30% new wood
